Broadband TV News: Vodafone selects Amagi to provide FAST on GigaTV

Story from Broadband TV News:

Cloud-based SaaS provider Amagi has announced its selection by Vodafone Germany as a technical service provider and content aggregator for its recently launched Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) project.

Under the agreement, Amagi will act as Vodafone’s partner for FAST, offering technology solutions, managing channel delivery, and monetising content across Vodafone’s platforms. Vodafone Germany introduced its first seven FAST channels on GigaTV on 3 July 2025.

The collaboration operates using Amagi’s FASTKit solution, which is designed to support the launch and scaling of FAST services efficiently. FASTKit integrates Amagi’s cloud infrastructure, content operations, metadata management, EPG packaging, ad monetidation, and access to available FAST-ready content. These channels are available on Vodafone’s latest GigaTV set-top boxes with designated slots in the Electronic Program Guide, requiring no additional application.

Emma Jones, Global Head of Content at Vodafone Group, said: “This partnership underscores our priority to broaden content choice efficiently. Amagi’s cloud-native FAST origination and distribution services enable us to introduce new channel line-ups swiftly, manage inventory centrally, and deliver a consistent experience to our customers.”

Sridhar Sinnasamy, Senior Vice President and business leader for FASTKit at Amagi, added: “This is a milestone FASTKit deployment for us in Europe – a fully managed solution combining technology, content operations, and monetisation. Vodafone’s launch in Germany shows how platforms can scale FAST with effective foundations. With Amagi’s FASTKit, we aim to help partners accelerate time-to-market, reduce operational friction, and introduce new revenue streams while delivering a consistent viewing experience.”

Amagi supplies cloud-managed video infrastructure for live, on-demand, and OTT TV. The company operates in the EMEA region, serving major clients in the Media and Entertainment industry.
