Variety: Paramount+ to Launch Multiview Feature to Stream up to Four Channels at Once

Story from Variety:

Next week, Paramount+ will launch a new multiview feature, initially for the kickoff of CBS Sports’ UEFA soccer coverage — and eventually extending to other content on the streamer.

The first iteration of the multiview feature on Paramount+ will let fans to watch up to four matches at once, select their preferred audio and build their own “custom matchday experience” for UEFA matches. At launch, the feature will be available exclusively for UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League competitions on the web across desktops.

While the feature is launching exclusively for UEFA coverage, Paramount Skydance says Paramount+ is “actively evolving the experience” to feature more entertainment and news content options in the coming months to make the multiview experience “even more dynamic and personalized.”

CBS Sports begins its 2025-26 UEFA Champions League season coverage on Tuesday, Sept. 16, with a special three-day opening week. All UEFA matches will stream live on Paramount+ and select matches during the League Phase will air on the CBS Sports Network linear channel and CBS Sports Golazo Network.

In June, Paramount informed subscribers that the name of its ad-free streaming plan is no longer Paramount+ With Showtime — instead, it’s now called Paramount+ Premium. The pricing of the package remained the same, at $12.99 per month or $119.99 per year.

As of June 30, 2025, Paramount+ tallied 77.7 million subscribers, a decrease of 1.3 million in the quarter, primarily reflecting “the expiration of an international hard bundle deal,” Paramount Global said in posting its second-quarter 2025 results. Direct-to-consumer revenue (which includes Paramount+, Pluto TV and BET+) increased 15% in the period, to $2.16 billion, while adjusted operating income was $157 million (vs. $26 million in the year-earlier quarter).

Last month, Skydance closed its takeover of Paramount Global following FCC approval of the deal. David Ellison, now CEO of Paramount Skydance, said the company expects to cut more than $2 billion in costs from the company. That will include mass layoffs, with as many as 3,000 jobs expected to be eliminated by early November, Variety has reported.
